Life in UMich

Well I figured I'd get the ball going on my blog again. Just started life here at Michigan and aside from the earthquake and two tornado warning things are going great. I am working for Dr. Ferris in the Human Neuromechanics lab. Everyone in my lab has a great personality and has been incredibly helpful especially the grad student Amy and my office mate Julia.
I've been mainly reading a ton of papers and helping Amy on her experiment on how people fall. The method of Amy's expirement is to wire a person up with an EEG cap, sensors to pick up muscle activity and small point sources that are used by to make a 3D model of you walking that tells what part of your brain and muscles you are using to try to hold your balance.
I volunteered to be a subject so they wired me up put goo on my head and I began walking and balancing myself. Below are pics of me wired up and how slimy my head was after they removed the cap with the EEG gel they used to make it easier to pick up brain signals. Last I took a short video on how this all looks in action.
